Day 3:
From Malargue in Mendoza to Las Lajas in Neuquenm (all on rute 40). Left early after a quick breakfast. Lovely arid terrain, clear skies and open country. This is the day when I fell trying follow an avestruz¡¡¡¡ (emu!) and then again while taking a corner on gravel a bit faster than I should have¡¡¡¡
Ended up very tired in a small place Las Lajas, owner of the hostel was a bit weird. Senor Jimenez…. We thought he was going to shoot us while sleeping to steal the bikes and dump bodies in the river….. I managed to get a smile out of him while leaving…..
Had to bring a mattress from another room and put it on the floor.
